US President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop targeting Russian facilities that produce diesel fuel. Speaking during a visit to Ireland, Trump claimed that Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries are causing a shortage of diesel on the global market.

'Zelensky has to do one thing,' Trump said. 'He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia. Let him hit the targets, but not the diesel fuel, because that is causing a shortage of diesel fuel.'

The US President linked the fuel shortage to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, saying he had already discussed this issue with Zelensky.

'This is not because of the Middle East, this is because of what is happening with Russia and Ukraine,' Trump said. 'There are many other targets. Don't hit diesel fuel, because it harms the world.'

Global oil and petroleum product prices have been rising in recent months due to various factors, including the ongoing war against Iran.
