Trump's AI-Generated Video Sparks Warning to Iran Over Strait of Hormuz
US Vice President JD Vance said that an AI-generated video posted by President Donald Trump on his Truth Social account was meant to send a message to Iran. The video depicted missiles raining down on Kharg Island, which is used by Iran to process about 90% of its oil exports.
Vance stated that the post was specifically intended to tell the Iranians there would be consequences if they continued threatening commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The US and Iran have been exchanging fire for months, with the latest incident occurring on Sunday when the US targeted launchers on Iran's Larak Island. The US has been working to clear naval mines in the area, which are being used by Iran to disrupt commercial shipping.
