Trump's AI Video of Kharg Island Sparks Laughter from Iran

Iranian officials have dismissed as 'laughable' an AI-generated video posted by President Donald Trump on Truth Social, which appeared to show dramatic explosions at Kharg Island.

The island is a critical oil export terminal that handles around 90% of Iran's oil exports. However, Iranian National Oil Co. CEO Hamid Bovard stated that conditions in Kharg are calm and appropriate, with workers repairing previous damage and modernizing facilities.

Trump's video post came just hours after US forces struck two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island, east of Kharg. The US described the action as 'limited, precise' against mine-laying forces posing an imminent threat in the Strait of Hormuz.
