Trump's Energy Promises Fall Flat as Gas Prices Soar to New Heights
Charlie Bilello, Chief Market Strategist at Wealth management firm Creative Planning, has sharply criticized President Donald Trump's energy promises and claims. Specifically, Bilello points out that Trump failed to deliver on his campaign promise of slashing energy prices by half within 12 months.
Bilello highlighted the 'painful new record' for American drivers as the national average price of gasoline exceeded $4.00 per gallon every single day in August. He further noted a sharp decline in crude-oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, contradicting Trump's claim that 30 ships were passing through the waterway nightly.
The analyst also pointed out the rising energy costs, including Brent crude prices increasing by 24%, WTI Crude and Gas prices surging by 28% and 37% respectively since February. Additionally, diesel prices rose by 49%, jet fuel prices increased by 53%, and European natural gas costs skyrocketed by 120%.
