Oil prices plummeted on Sunday after President Donald Trump announced that US forces would hold off on new strikes against Iran. The move comes as a deal to end the Middle East conflict is near, according to Trump.

The price of U.S. crude oil fell by 5% to $80.79 per barrel, while Brent crude dropped by 5% to $83.87 per barrel. These prices remain about 20% higher than before the conflict began in late February.
