Oil prices plummeted on Monday after President Donald Trump announced he would hold off on ordering new strikes against Iran, easing Wall Street's worries about inflation.
The price of Brent crude fell 5.1% to $83.42 per barrel, while U.S. benchmark crude lost 5.8% to $79.81 per barrel.
This decline in oil prices helped calm the market, with the S&P 500 rising 0.4%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average adding 625 points, and the Nasdaq composite increasing by 0.2%
