Trump's Iran Talks Spark Oil Price Slide, Yen Gains After Joint Intervention
Oil prices plummeted on August 3 as US President Donald Trump announced fresh talks with Iran, which will cover the Strait of Hormuz and ultimately, denuclearization.
The announcement came after Trump had threatened to hit Iran 'very hard' and was reportedly considering renewed attacks, including against energy infrastructure.
However, he pulled back from this threat on Saturday, saying the perimeters of a deal were there. Now what we're doing is we're talking to them in the form of a negotiation. It begins tomorrow afternoon.
