Trump's Oil Price Predictions Prove False as Global Prices Soar
President Donald Trump has made numerous comments about oil prices since the Iran war began in February. On several occasions, he predicted that oil prices would fall after the resolution of the conflict. However, global crude prices have continued to rise, reaching a peak of nearly $120 a barrel on March 31.
Despite this, Trump maintained his optimism, saying that the U.S. does not import oil through the Strait of Hormuz and urging allies to reopen the trading route. He also claimed that Americans' financial situation was not a motivating factor in efforts to strike a deal with Iran.
In recent days, Trump has reiterated his prediction that oil prices will fall after the Iran war is won. However, global oil prices have surged above $100 a barrel for the second time since July, and the average price of gasoline stood at $4.22 a gallon on September 9.
