Trump's Words Send Oil Prices Lower Amid Iran Conflict
Oil prices declined on Thursday after three consecutive sessions of gains due to US President Donald Trump's comments that the renewed campaign against Iran would not continue for 'too long.'
Brent crude futures for November delivery fell 0.7% to $94.98 a barrel from $95.63, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures for October delivery dropped 0.7% to $90.38 a barrel from $91.01.
Trump's comments followed reports that he is privately considering declaring the war with Iran over, which would maintain intense economic pressure on Tehran in an effort to force it to dismantle its nuclear program or collapse.
