TSX Futures Climb Ahead of Key US Inflation Data

TSX futures pointed higher on Friday as investors awaited key U.S. inflation data that could influence the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision next week.

The S&P/TSX 60 index standard futures contract gained 11 points, or 0.5%, by 07:03 ET (11:03 GMT).

This comes after the S&P/TSX composite index fell by 1.1% to end at 35,506.28 on Thursday, marking a fourth consecutive daily decline and its lowest closing level since July.

The recent surge in oil prices above $100 a barrel has driven concerns about energy-fueled inflation, pushing up government bond yields and denting the appeal of risk assets, according to analysts at Deutsche Bank.
