TSX Index Rallies on Gold Price Surge, Easing Geopolitical Tensions
Canada's main stock index, the S&P/TSX composite index, rallied 1.3% on Tuesday, driven by a surge in mining and technology shares.
The rally was fueled by easing geopolitical tensions and stronger precious metals prices, which boosted risk appetite.
Mining stocks jumped 4.7%, with companies like Americas Gold and Silver, Trekor Metals, and Perpetua Resources surging between 10.6% and 13.1%.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's gains were also influenced by the US indices, which broke out of the gate and hit a new record high on Tuesday.
