TSX Plunges Amid Oil Price Surge
The S&P/TSX composite index fell by 400 points on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as oil prices surged past $100 per barrel.
The October crude oil contract was up $6.43 at $102.48 per barrel, while the Canadian dollar traded for 72.35 cents US compared to 72.47 cents US on Wednesday.
In New York, major stock markets also lost ground: the Dow Jones industrial average fell by 316.56 points, and the S&P 500 index dropped by 44.66 points, while the Nasdaq composite was down 171.62 points.
