Tunisia Buys 75,000 Tons of Wheat at Higher Prices Due to Black Sea Supplies
Tunisia's Grain Agency has purchased 75,000 tons of common wheat from international suppliers at an average price of $288.19/ton C&F. The tender was held on July 30 and shipment is scheduled to take place between August 25 and September 30, 2026.
The purchase price is $5/ton higher than the previous tender on July 21, which suggests an increase in world prices due to a possible reduction in supplies of Black Sea wheat. European traders report that this trend may continue.
The Grain Agency purchased wheat from two suppliers: Grainstar and Casillo. The lots were sold at $286/ton and $289.57/ton respectively. Additionally, the agency acquired 50,000 tons of feed barley for delivery between August 25 and September 25, 2026 at a price of $266.48/t C&F and $269.69/t C&F.
The purchase price of barley remains relatively stable compared to previous deliveries in May, as the world supply of barley is increasing.
