Tupi Asset Reaches 4 Billion Barrel Milestone in Santos Basin
The Tupi asset in the Santos Basin has reached a significant milestone - cumulative production of 4 billion barrels of oil equivalent (boe).
This achievement comes two decades after Petrobras began operations in the area, and it's a testament to the pioneering technologies that have been developed for this pre-salt system.
The Tupi asset is currently Petrobras' main source of production, accounting for up to 82% of its total output by 2030, according to the company's Business Plan. This plan projects an increase in oil and gas production through the management of reservoir potential, improved efficiency, and the identification of new opportunities.
The pre-salt area has been a game-changer for Petrobras, with 28 of its 57 production platforms located exclusively within this region. In January 2025, the cumulative production from these platforms reached 7 billion barrels of oil.
