Turkey Boosts Diplomatic Efforts for Black Sea Grain Corridor
Turkey has stepped up diplomatic efforts to establish a new grain corridor in the Black Sea, aiming to ensure safe maritime trade and stable exports of agricultural products.
Ankara is maintaining constant dialogue with Ukraine and Russia, seeking solutions to address transportation issues and threats to civilian shipping in the region.
Russia has accumulated approximately 60 million tons of grain, while Ukraine holds around 30-35 million tons of grain and oilseeds, totaling nearly 100 million tons of undelivered products.
Turkish authorities express concern that export difficulties may lead to a significant increase in food prices, citing the president of the Istanbul Association of Grain, Legumes, and Oilseeds Exporters, Kazim Tayci, who stated that grain prices have already risen by 4-4.5%.
