Turkey Boosts Domestic Oil and Gas Output by 23 Million Barrels
Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar announced that efforts to boost domestic oil and gas output are continuing at full speed. The ministry reported that Turkey's domestic oil production reached 23.1 million barrels in the first six months of the year, with Gabar field accounting for 60% of total production.
Natural gas production also exceeded expectations, surpassing 1.641 billion cubic meters during the January-June period. The Sakarya Gas Field had a 92% share of total production, while private-sector companies produced the remaining 8%.
Minister Bayraktar stated that Turkey will double its natural gas production in the Black Sea this year and increase oil production by opening new wells in Gabar. He emphasized that domestic oil and natural gas production will continue to rise.
