Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan Sign Joint Defense Pact Amid Regional Turmoil
Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan will sign a joint defense agreement in Mecca on Friday, amid rising tensions in the Middle East. The pact aims to strengthen the alliance between these Sunni Muslim powers, which are also aligned with the United States.
The agreement comes as a response to regional turmoil, particularly Iran's assertiveness and Israel's increasing military presence. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan have been concerned about their security vulnerabilities due to ongoing conflicts in the region.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan are expected to sign the agreement on Friday, along with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The pact is seen as a significant development in regional politics, given the military might of Turkey and Pakistan.
