Turkey's EPDK Publishes Draft Regulation to Standardize Natural Gas Distribution Practices
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) in Turkey has published a draft regulation to improve safe operational practices, service quality, and consistency of application in natural gas distribution. The draft aims to standardize procedures and principles across all 73 licensed distribution companies.
One key aspect of the draft is the standardization of emergency response services, including the classification of reports, preparation of instructions, and training for personnel. Emergency response vehicles will also have a standardized design, making it easier for citizens to recognize them during interventions.
The regulation also addresses disaster situations by establishing a support mechanism between distribution companies. In case of network damage, details regarding securing the area, notifying customers, methods of intervention, and costing of damages will be clarified.
