Turkey's FM Discusses Saudi Oil Pipeline Attacks with Counterpart
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed recent attacks against Saudi Arabia in a phone call with his Saudi counterpart, according to a Turkish diplomatic source.
The conversation took place after Saudi Arabia temporarily shut its East-West Pipeline as a precaution following multiple attacks in the Riyadh and Medina regions. Several people were injured in the incidents, but no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The pipeline was secured by emergency and technical teams, who assessed its safety. The joint defense agreement signed last month between Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan includes a mutual defense clause similar to NATO's Article 5.
