Turkey's Spot Market Natural Gas Prices Spike by 117% on Friday

The spot market natural gas prices in Turkey experienced a significant increase on Friday, July 31. According to data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST), the trade volume surged by 117.3% to around 16.3 million liras. This marks a substantial jump from Thursday's total of about 7.5 million liras.

The price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas on the spot market reached 17,602.11 Turkish liras on Friday. The cumulative trade volume for natural gas amounted to approximately 930,000 cubic meters. Turkey received around 79.86 million cubic meters of natural gas on that day.

Meanwhile, the exchange rate between US dollars and Turkish lira stood at 47.51 liras per dollar at 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) on Saturday.
