Turkish Drillers Set to Tap into Pakistan's Offshore Energy

Pakistan's energy sector is set to receive a significant boost as Turkish Petroleum prepares to commence offshore drilling operations in the country's territorial waters.

According to Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, this move will pave the way for substantial foreign investment in the energy sector and help reduce reliance on imports.

The country currently imports around 90% of its energy requirements, with domestic oil production standing at approximately 70,000 barrels per day against a daily demand of around 500,000 barrels.
