Turkish Natural Gas Spot Market Sees 127% Trade Volume Surge

The spot market for natural gas in Türkiye saw significant activity on Saturday, August 29, according to data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST). The total trade volume surged by 127.1% compared to Friday's figure, reaching approximately 10.9 million Turkish liras. This marked a substantial increase from the previous day's trade of around 4.8 million liras.

The price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas on the spot market stood at 17,216.77 Turkish liras. The cumulative natural gas trade volume for the day amounted to approximately 635,000 cubic meters.

Türkiye received around 87.9 million cubic meters of gas on Saturday, and the exchange rate at the time was US$1 equaling 48.24 Turkish liras.
