Turkish Natural Gas Trade Volume Jumps 30% Amid Market Shift
The spot market for natural gas in Türkiye saw an increase of 30% in trade volume on Wednesday, reaching around 3.32 million Turkish liras, according to data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST). This marks a significant jump from Tuesday's total of about 2.56 million liras.
The price of natural gas also rose, with 1,000 cubic meters costing 17,219 Turkish liras on Wednesday's spot market. The cumulative trade volume for natural gas reached around 193,000 cubic meters during this period.
Türkiye received approximately 104.89 million cubic meters of gas on Wednesday. The exchange rate between the US dollar and the Turkish lira was fixed at 47.95 liras per dollar by Thursday's local time (1100 GMT).
