Turkish Refinery Production Slumps by 30.2% Amid Global Market Shifts
STAR Oil Refinery in Türkiye has reported a significant decrease in petroleum coke production. In June, the refinery produced over 40,903 tons of petroleum coke, down from 58,583 tons in the same month last year.
This represents a 30.2% drop in output compared to June 2025, according to figures released by Türkiye's Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK). The overall production of petroleum coke at Turkish oil refineries also decreased, with a total of 105,837 tons produced in June, down from 129,717 tons last year.
STAR Oil Refinery is an asset of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR) and was inaugurated on October 19, 2018. The facility has an annual crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons and produces a range of products, including diesel fuel, aviation fuel, naphtha, liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
