Turkiye and Saudi Arabia Bolster Renewable Energy Partnership
Turkiye and Saudi Arabia are strengthening their partnership in renewable energy by expanding their cooperation to 5,000 megawatts. This is an increase of 3,000 megawatts from their previous agreement covering 2,000 MW of renewable energy projects.
According to Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Turkiye has quadrupled its installed electricity capacity over the past 25 years, from 32,000 megawatts to 126,000 megawatts. This is a significant achievement under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's leadership.
Bayraktar highlighted that Turkiye now has Europe's third-largest installed electricity capacity and the third-highest electricity generation and consumption after France and Germany. He also mentioned that natural gas production has increased ninefold, oil production has tripled, and mineral exports have risen tenfold.
