Türkiye's Gabar Oil Field Hits Record Output Amid 'Terror-Free' Initiative
The Gabar oil field in southeastern Türkiye has hit a record daily output of 83,300 barrels per day (bpd), according to Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar. The minister attributed this increase to the ongoing 'terror-free Türkiye' initiative, which aims to eliminate terrorism from the region.
The Gabar oil field has transformed into a hub for Türkiye's production, with the country's state-run Turkish Petroleum (TPAO) conducting seismic surveys and drilling operations freely due to the established atmosphere of security and peace. This shift in focus from terrorism to production has unlocked new opportunities and investment potential in the region.
Since 2021, TPAO has produced over 50 million barrels of crude oil from the Gabar fields, with the largest oil discovery in the history of the republic made in the same year. Bayraktar pledged to continue working tirelessly to increase production and bring hope for the future of citizens.
The minister linked the success at Gabar to the 'terror-free Türkiye' process, stating that when extended to all of Türkiye and the region, it will bring a brighter future for the people and nation. The draft bill on this initiative was submitted to Parliament on Wednesday.
