Turkiye's Natural Gas Trade Volume Plummets 61.7%

Turkiye's spot natural gas market saw a significant decrease in trade volume on Sunday, September 13. According to data from the Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST), the total trade on Saturday was around 6.8 million Turkish liras, but this dropped by 61.7% to approximately 2.6 million liras on Sunday.

The price of 1,000 cubic meters of natural gas on the spot market also remained steady at 17,280 Turkish liras. The cumulative natural gas trade volume for the day was around 152,000 cubic meters.

Turkiye received approximately 105.8 million cubic meters of gas on Sunday, while the exchange rate for US dollars to Turkish liras stood at 48.61 as of 2 p.m. local time (1100 GMT) on Monday.
