U.S.-Iran Negotiations Spark Sharp Oil Price Drop and Market Rally
The U.S. and Iran's resumption of negotiations has sent oil prices plummeting by over 7% in a single day, while U.S. stock futures rose sharply.
On Monday, President Trump announced that the two countries would resume talks on August 3, stating that an agreement had already been reached regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
The news sparked a decline in Brent crude's October futures contract to $81.55 per barrel, one of its largest single-day declines in recent times.
Despite this, S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures rose by 0.4% and 0.76%, respectively, as the market's risk appetite rebounded.
