U.S.-Iran Peace Deal Hopes Fade, Oil Prices Rise
Oil prices have risen to near one-week highs due to dwindling optimism about a U.S.-Iran peace deal. This decreased optimism has increased market uncertainty and risk premiums, leading to higher oil prices.
The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude price is approaching $82, with potential to reach $92 and $100 if key resistance levels are broken. The Brent crude price remains above $90.50 and could rally towards $100.
Supply risks, including delayed refinery restarts and reduced exports through the Strait of Hormuz, are supporting high prices. However, progress on peace talks could quickly lower oil prices.
