UAE Blames Iran for Drone Attacks on Oil Tankers

The United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry has accused Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of launching drone attacks on two UAE oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry described the strikes as an act of piracy, which resulted in no casualties but highlighted the dangers facing commercial vessels traveling through the critical waterway.

The UAE Foreign Ministry stated that 'targeting commercial shipping and using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of economic coercion or blackmail represents acts of piracy by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps.' They also stressed the need for Iran to halt these unprovoked attacks, ensuring its full commitment to an immediate cessation of all hostilities.

The attacks come amid tense negotiations between the United States and Iran over the future of the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait is a narrow waterway connecting the Arabian Gulf with the Gulf of Oman, giving Tehran a strategic position over one of the world's most important energy corridors.
