UAE Boosts Oil Export Capacity via Fujairah Pipeline

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is doubling its oil export capacity by bypassing the Strait of Hormuz by next year, according to a statement from Abu Dhabi's media office. The move aims to reduce reliance on the shipping chokepoint, which has been affected by Iran's closure of the strait.

The existing pipeline, operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (Adnoc), carries 1.5 million barrels per day and has helped the UAE continue to supply markets during the conflict. However, this capacity is less than half of Adnoc's normal export volumes.

The expansion of the pipeline will increase capacity to meet growing demand for oil exports. As the UAE plans to boost its production capacity to 5 million barrels per day by next year, the expanded pipeline will provide an additional route for exports.
