UAE Defies Hormuz Blockade with Record Oil Exports
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully maintained its oil exports at pre-crisis levels, despite the ongoing blockage at the Strait of Hormuz. By utilizing various workarounds, including loading crude on larger vessels outside the strait and maximizing the use of onshore pipelines, the UAE has managed to ship more crude oil than any other Gulf producer in June and July.
According to vessel-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg, the UAE shipped over 4.1 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil in June, its highest output ever. This marks a significant increase from May's production level of 3.3 million bpd.
The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has issued an unprecedented number of tenders to sell cargoes of millions of barrels of crude oil, with the latest tender offering cargo loadings from various UAE ports and ship-to-ship transfers offshore Fujairah or Malaysia.
