Uganda's Oil and Gas Projects Nearing Completion: Chief Justice and BoU Governor
Uganda's oil and gas projects are nearing completion, according to Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija and Bank of Uganda Governor Michael Atingi-Ego.
The duo made this statement after a four-day visit to the Albertine region, where they toured various project sites, including the Tilenga Project in Buliisa district.
During their tour, they gained insight into upstream oil production, environmental restoration, and community resettlement initiatives. They also visited key infrastructure projects, such as the Contractor Support Base (CSB), Central Processing Facility (CPF), and solar power plant.
The Chief Justice emphasized that the visit was essential in exposing judicial officers to the realities of Uganda's oil and gas industry, which will enable them to handle petroleum-related disputes more effectively. He also commended the sector's commitment to promoting local content and investing in technical education.
