UK Oil Stocks Soar as Energy Prices Reach New Heights
Energy prices are rising once again in the UK, pushing Brent above $90 per barrel and influencing inflation rates. This shift is affecting various sectors, including oil and gas producers listed on the FTSE.
Tullow Oil, a London-based upstream producer, is one of these companies. It generates significant revenue from its operations in Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, with earnings closely tied to international crude markets.
With a market cap of around £279 million, Tullow Oil offers mid-sized exposure to higher global oil prices. The company's revenue is heavily weighted towards Ghana, which generated about $833 million in revenue. Every $10 per barrel increase in Brent adds around $100 million to its cash flow.
However, Tullow carries meaningful debt and is concentrated in a single country, raising questions about resilience if prices or operations move against it.
