Ukraine Corn Prices Decline Amid Logistics Cost Rise
Ukraine's corn prices are continuing to decline as the harvest approaches and logistics costs rise.
The country enters the new season with significant stocks of old-crop corn, but uncertainty about exports remains.
USDA estimates show that Ukraine has opening corn stocks of 2.25 million tons for the 2026/27 MY, up from 0.84 million tons last year.
The production forecast is also higher at 31.8 million tons compared to 30.9 million tons in the previous season.
However, the export forecast was reduced by only 1 million tons to 22 million tons for the August report.
This reduction is due to the suspension of exports from Black Sea ports since July 22, leading to increased stocks and uncertainty about exports in the first half of the season.
