The Ukrainian government has extended the settlement periods for agricultural exporters in response to attacks by the Russian Federation on civilian vessels and port infrastructure. The decision aims to provide more time for farmers to fulfill contracts amidst complicated logistics.

According to Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, the maximum settlement period for export contracts for certain goods, including wheat, corn, soybeans, sunflower seeds, sunflower oil, and oilcake, can be extended by up to 180 days. The Ministry of Economy will have the authority to grant these extensions at the request of exporters.

Koretskyi stated that this change is intended to help preserve exports and foreign-currency revenues for the state, as well as ensure resources for the upcoming sowing campaign. Ukraine's grain exports have been severely impacted by the situation in the Black Sea region.
