Ukraine's Agriculture and Food Minister Taras Vysotskyi warned that grain storage capacity could be filled by November if Russian attacks continue to disrupt exports. The country is currently exporting agricultural products at only about 30% of the needed level, with most going through its main Black Sea ports. However, these ports have been severely impacted by Russian attacks on civilian vessels carrying food.

The disruption has led to a significant decrease in exports through the main route, from around 90% in the first half of this year to just 30%. With Ukraine expecting to harvest over 80 million tons of grain and oilseeds, storage facilities are filling up quickly. At the current export rate, additional storage capacity will be needed by November.

Ukraine is seeking temporary grain storage solutions, particularly for small farms and those in frontline regions. International partners have pledged $11 million for this purpose, with another $25 million being discussed with the World Bank. The country is also trying to expand alternative export routes via the Danube and Romania's port of Constanța.
