Ukraine Feed Corn Prices Decline Amid Export Halt and Supply Glut
Ukraine's feed corn prices continued to decline this week due to downward pressure from various market factors, according to APK-Inform. The price drop was attributed to a near-complete halt in exports, an increase in domestic supply, and large carryover stocks. As the harvest campaign approaches, these factors combined to put further downward pressure on prices.
As of July 31, bid prices for feed corn ranged from UAH 7,000 to UAH 9,000 per ton CPT, down by UAH 400-1,000 per ton compared to last week's end. The approaching harvest campaign and existing carryover stocks have put pressure on prices, making it difficult for farmers to sell their crops at a profit.
The Ukrainian grain market has been under scrutiny in recent weeks due to export restrictions and supply chain disruptions. This latest development is likely to impact local farmers, who rely heavily on the sale of their crops to generate income.
