Ukraine Grain Exports Boom in July Despite Security Concerns

Ukraine's grain exports continue to thrive despite challenging conditions for the agricultural sector. In July 2026, Ukraine exported a total of 2.6 million tons of grains and legumes, marking the first month of the new marketing season 2026/2027.

The export data shows that wheat shipments were significantly higher than last year's figures, reaching 1.05 million tons in July 2026 compared to 744 thousand tons in the same period last year. Barley exports also saw an increase, amounting to 294 thousand tons compared to 267 thousand tons in July 2025.

Corn exports showed the largest growth, with 1.24 million tons being exported in July 2026 - almost double the amount for the same date in 2025 (627 thousand tons). However, no rye exports took place during this period.

The security situation and temporary suspension of vessel access to Ukrainian seaports due to daily attacks on the country's infrastructure had a significant impact on export activities. The government is working with international partners to develop solutions to protect export logistics and ensure the continuation of exports.
