Ukraine's grain exports have slowed significantly in August due to attacks on port infrastructure. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, total exports since the start of the 2026/27 marketing year stood at 2.952 million metric tons as of August 12. This is still 4.8% higher than the same period last year.

However, the current trend shows a decline in grain exports, with wheat shipments totaling only 175,000 metric tons during the first 12 days of August. In comparison, for the entire month of July last year, this figure reached 759,000 metric tons.

Corn exports have also decreased by 39.9%, to 827,000 metric tons, over nearly a month and a half. Ukraine is considering an alternative transportation method through Moldova to the Romanian port of Constanța as a safer option.
