Ukraine Grain Harvest Forecast Rises to 64.3 Million Tons
Ukraine's grain harvest forecast has been raised to 64.3 million tons by UkrAgroConsult, citing favorable weather conditions and an expanded planted area.
The largest upward revision is for barley, which is expected to reach a record crop this season due to yields averaging 4.42 tons per hectare in the southern regions.
However, Ukraine's ability to export its grain crops, particularly barley, may be limited by maritime logistics constraints.
The Black Sea ports traditionally give priority to shipping wheat and corn over other grains, which may result in a larger share of the barley crop remaining on the domestic market.
