Ukraine Launches Destructive Drone Attack on Russian Black Sea Port
Ukraine has launched a massive drone attack on Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, targeting grain terminals and oil export infrastructure. The attack, which occurred overnight, put two major grain terminals out of action.
Russia is the world's largest wheat exporter, with most of its exports shipped via its Black Sea ports like Novorossiysk. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said that Kyiv had hit Russia's naval base in Novorossiysk with drones, missiles, and unmanned boats.
The attack comes as Ukraine has halted its strikes on tankers servicing the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), which is owned partly by US oil majors Chevron and Exxon Mobil. The CPC carries Kazakh oil exports to market.
