Ukraine Seeks Long-Term Gas Supplies from Canada
Ukraine and Canadian company Kino Aski LNG have signed a memorandum to explore long-term supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Canada.
The document was signed during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Canada, but specific volumes and delivery timelines remain undisclosed.
Naftogaz Group, Ukraine's state-owned energy company, plans to assess potential demand for Canadian LNG in Europe and evaluate logistical routes for transporting it to the region.
One option being considered is using capacity at the LNG terminal in Klaipeda, Lithuania, which Naftogaz holds long-term contracts for.
