Ukraine Sees 9.8% Spike in Grain Exports Amid Global Market Concerns
Ukraine's grain exports have seen a significant increase since the start of the 2026/27 marketing year, with 3.093 million metric tons exported as of August 14, 2026, marking a 9.8% rise from last year's figure.
This is according to data from the State Customs Service, cited by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. Total exports of grains, legumes, and flour reached 3.097 million metric tons as of August 14, surpassing the 2.826 million metric tons exported during the same period last year.
The breakdown by crop type shows a decline in wheat exports by 14.9% to 1.291 million metric tons from 1.517 million metric tons last year. Barley exports also fell by 26.8%, totaling 339,000 metric tons compared to 463,000 metric tons in the same period.
However, corn exports saw a significant increase of 69.6% to 1.403 million metric tons from 827,000 metric tons last year. Wheat flour exports, on the other hand, decreased by 48.3%, with only 3,000 metric tons exported as of August 14 compared to 5,800 metric tons during the same period in the previous marketing year.
