Ukraine Strikes Key Russian Port City, Disrupting Global Grain Exports
A major attack by Ukraine on Russia's Black Sea port city of Novorossiysk has caused significant damage and disruption to grain exports. According to Russian and Ukrainian officials, warships at a naval base were hit, and two major grain terminals were forced to stop operations.
The attack, carried out using drones and missiles, resulted in the deaths of at least two people, including an 8-year-old child. More than two dozen residential buildings, four enterprises, and some educational facilities were damaged.
Novorossiysk is one of Russia's major Black Sea ports, handling important grain and oil shipments. The attack has raised concerns about disruption to Russia's wheat exports, with Ukraine being the world's largest wheat exporter.
The strike on Novorossiysk has led to a temporary suspension of its water supply, and Russian officials are working to redirect grain exports through alternative routes.
