Ukraine Strikes Russian Targets Overnight, Hits Syzran Oil Refinery and Drone Facility
Ukrainian forces launched strikes against two key Russian targets overnight on September 15. The Syzran Oil Refinery, part of Russia's state-owned oil giant Rosneft, was hit with a direct strike and fire at the AVT-6 primary oil refining unit and tank farm.
The refinery has an annual crude oil processing capacity of around 8.9 million metric tons and produces gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, and other petroleum products.
Samara Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev reported that over 40 Ukrainian drones were shot down in the region's territory, causing damage to an industrial site and shattering windows in several residential buildings.
In southern Russia's Taganrog, Ukrainian forces targeted the premises of Atlant Aero, a manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles and components, including the Molniya strike and reconnaissance drones.
