The Ukrainian military has confirmed striking one of Russia's largest oil refineries, owned by Lukoil, in the city of Perm. The attack occurred on July 29 and targeted the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery, which processes over 13 million metric tons of crude oil annually.

According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine has imposed 'long-range sanctions' on an oil refinery in Perm Krai, with no people injured as a result of the strike. The Security Service (SBU) claimed responsibility for the attack, revealing that the target was the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery.

A fire broke out at the facility following the attack, with preliminary information indicating that a primary oil-processing unit was burning. This is part of Ukraine's campaign to disrupt fuel supplies and degrade Russia's ability to sustain its war against Ukraine.
