Ukraine Sunflower Prices Tumble Amid Increased Supply
Purchasing prices for sunflower in Ukraine continue to decline due to increasing supply and falling oil prices, according to the Electronic Grain Exchange.
Demand prices for Russian sunflower oil with delivery in September-October have decreased by another 30-40 USD/ton to 1250-1260 USD/ton with delivery to the port, putting pressure on prices in Ukraine where demand prices also fell by 30-40 USD/ton to 1200-1220 USD/ton with delivery to the Danube ports.
The lack of hope for negotiations between Russia and Ukraine continues to block exports from Black Sea ports, and the threat of strikes on elevators and oil extraction plants limits the operation of processing enterprises.
