Ukraine Surges Wheat Exports to Spain and Egypt Amid Accelerated Pace

Ukraine's wheat exports surged in August, with Spain and Egypt emerging as the largest buyers. According to UkrAgroConsult, Ukraine shipped around 612.7 thousand tons of wheat to these countries, accounting for nearly half (51%) of the country's total wheat exports during the month. Spain purchased 118.2 thousand tons, followed by Egypt with 116.1 thousand tons, and Algeria with 78.1 thousand tons.

The pace of wheat exports accelerated significantly in early September, with Ukraine shipping around 116.8 thousand tons on September 1-3, a notable increase from the average daily export rate of 20 thousand tons in August. The main destinations for Ukrainian wheat during this period included Tunisia, Egypt, Indonesia, and Israel.

Ukrainian wheat prices remained steady over the past week, with milling wheat quoted at $185 per ton CPT Odesa, while feed wheat stood at $175 per ton. Meanwhile, Ukraine exported around 300 thousand tons of corn in August, with a further 69.2 thousand tons shipped to Italy, Turkey, Germany, and the Netherlands in early September.
