Ukraine's military forces have launched an attack on Russia's largest Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, targeting its naval base and surrounding areas. The strike has resulted in fires at the fuel oil terminal and the Russian naval base.

The attack is part of a broader escalation of fighting in the region, with both sides stepping up their attacks on each other's infrastructure. This has disrupted commodity flows from the area, including oil products and grain.

Russia has been forced to redirect some of its crude oil exports via its Baltic facilities due to the attacks on its Black Sea ports. Kazakhstan has also cut its outlook for 2026 oil output by 2 million tons following earlier attacks on the Caspian Pipeline Consortium terminal.
